Update from 1st 4 Sewing – Taking a Temporary Break to Focus on 1st 4 Care

Hello everyone in the North East Tasmania community and St Helens friends,

Cathy here from 1st 4 Sewing. I wanted to reach out with a quick update and say a sincere thank you for the support you've given me since I started the mobile sewing service here.

It's been great working with so many of you—doing alterations, custom garments, quick repairs, soft furnishings, and sewing lessons right at your homes. I've appreciated the trust you've placed in me, the positive feedback, and the chance to help with your projects.

The reason for the update is that my other business, 1st 4 Care—providing senior support and NDIS services — has grown steadily and now takes up most of my time. It's important work in our community, and I need to give it my full attention to keep delivering the best possible care.

As a result, I've decided to temporarily close 1st 4 Sewing. This isn't permanent—things can change down the track—but for the foreseeable future, I won't be taking on any new sewing work, alterations, custom projects, furnishings, or lessons.

Thank you again for your support and understanding. It's been a pleasure being part of your wardrobes, homes, and sewing journeys.

If you or someone you know ever needs senior care or NDIS support, feel free to get in touch about 1st 4 Care—I'm happy to help where I can.

Thank you and take care, Cathy Macfarlane
